Gena Gorlin
Psychologist, Founder Coach
I’m a psychologist. I specialize in the needs of ambitious builders, most especially founders. I’m also a clinical faculty member in the UT Austin Department of Psychology.
I believe:
- The ambitious are an underserved population.
Therapy and coaching are generally not optimized for the needs of the bold and the brave. - The best way to build yourself is by building.
Human nature is such that self-creation is inextricable from creation. - Good psychology includes moral psychology.
Great therapy or coaching isn’t (just) a toolkit, but a framework for taking your life seriously and perfecting self-honesty. - The builder’s mindset is for everyone.
The healthy mind is governed neither by the barking of drill sergeants nor by a Zen acquiescence, but by a desire to build one’s own awesome, fully-lived life.
My practice includes both coaching for founders and therapy.
